Academic Shame: Belgian Universities Collaborate with Israeli Institutions Despite Complicity in Oppression

While scholars like Maya Wind expose how Israeli universities are deeply embedded in the machinery of occupation, torture, and apartheid, some Belgian institutions continue to look the other way.

🔻 In 2025, KU Leuven has once again entered into collaboration with Israeli institutions through the EU Horizon Europe program — despite mounting evidence and global calls for academic boycott.Israeli universities are not neutral spaces of learning. They are military hubs, intelligence incubators, and propaganda factories. They train soldiers, develop surveillance tech, justify ethnic cleansing, and whitewash war crimes.

-Do we need reminding that these same institutions support the military that killed Shaimaa Akram Saidam, the top high school student in Palestine, along with her entire family in Gaza?

🔴 Collaborating with Israeli academia is not benign — it is complicity. Silence is violence. Academic normalization enables apartheid.
